Communicare, our Patient Participation Group

The surgery Patient Participation Group (PPG), Communicare, was established in 1981 by Dr Holland and Mrs Clare Wagstaffe who saw the benefit of patient involvement within the Practice. The work of the group has evolved over the years and still remains a vital link between patients and the practice for the exchange of information, views and discussion. In normal times there is also an active social section, still looked after by Clare, providing activities and events to help promote friendship and community spirit.
Our PPG is one of the oldest in the country and has just had its 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2019. Due to pandemic restrictions the 39th AGM had to be cancelled, but it was possible to hold the 40th meeting at the Christie Hall in Wansford in October 2021.
The group has been continuously active since its formation overseen by an elected team of voluntary officials who hold regular meetings wth the practice personnel as well as general quarterly meetings when all patients are welcome to attend. Currently there are seven officials led by the chairman, vice chair with a secretary and treasurer.
If you have a matter which you feel the PPG should be made aware of, or you are perhaps interested in getting more involved in helping to further improve services for patients, please get in touch. Contact can be made via the PPG email WKC.PPG@ gmail.com
