Communicare, our Patient Participation Group

The Practice’s Patient Participation Group (PPG), Communicare, was established in 1981 by Dr Holland and Mrs Clare Wagstaffe who saw the benefit of patient involvement within the Practice. The work of the group has evolved over the years and still remains a vital link between patients and the Practice for mutual communication and co-operation, as a champion for patients, to be a critical friend to the Practice, to be involved in CQC inspections and to support the Practice through donations for equipment for patients.

Communicare is one of the oldest PPGs in the country and in 2023 held its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Minutes and Report from this (and previous Communicare meetings) can be read elsewhere in this section of the Practice’s website.

The group has been continuously active since its formation and is overseen by an elected team of voluntary officials who hold regular meetings with the Practice personnel as well as general quarterly meetings which all patients are welcome to attend.  Currently there are seven officials led by the chairman, vice chair with a secretary and treasurer.

If you have a matter which you feel the PPG should be made aware of, or you are perhaps interested in getting more involved in helping to further improve services for patients, do please get in touch.

Contact can be made via the PPG email [email protected]

The PPG now needs a new Secretary following the resignation of Wendy Spencer after more than 20 tremendous years in the role. If you feel that is a role which you could undertake, then please do contact the Chair, David Parkes, through the above email for a conversation.
